You are eligible for Medicare if you meet one of the following conditions:
- You’re 65 years or older
- You’re younger than 65 with a disability
- You have End-Stage Renal Disease
You may be eligible to get Medicare Part A premium-free if you’re age 65 or older and:
- You or your spouse worked/paid Medicare taxes for at least 10 years
- You can receive Social Security or Railroad benefits but you haven’t filed for them
- You or your spouse had Medicare-covered government employment
- You’re receiving retirement benefits from Social Security or the Railroad Retirement Board
Eligibility requirements for Part B are the same as Part A. However, unlike Part A, Part B requires a premium. To enroll in a Part C plan, you must be enrolled in both Part A and B. And, for Part D, you can enroll in it as long as you are enrolled in either Part A or B.
